ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW

October 26 @ 8:30 pm

$15

Southern Oregon Coast Pride proudly presents The Rocky Horror Picture Show.  WHEN: Saturday, October 26, 9:00 pm (Doors open at 8:30pm) WHERE: Chetco Brewing Company. 830 Railroad St, Brookings, OR. The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a 1975 independent musical comedy horror film.  Now a classic, the production is a tribute to the science fiction and horror B movies of the 1930s through to the early 1960s. The film stars Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, and Barry Bostwick. The story centers on a young engaged couple whose car breaks down in the rain near a castle, where they search for help. The castle is occupied by strangers in elaborate costumes celebrating. They discover the head of the house is Dr. Frank N. Furter, an apparently mad scientist, who creates a living muscle man named Rocky. The film became a hit when audiences began participating with the film, returning frequently, talking back to the screen, dressing as the characters, and performing alongside the film. This “shadow cast” mimed the actions on screen above and behind them, while lip-synching their characters’ lines.  Still in limited release in 2024, some 49 years after its premiere, it is the longest-running theatrical release in film history. Tickets: $15 at Eventbrite http://bit.ly/4gEPxFB or at the door. All proceeds benefit SOC Pride. Sponsored by Three Penny Theater and Wild Rivers Film Festival.
